BSA 106: Research on George Melies (Week 3)

George Melies was a magician turned filmmaker. He accidentally invented stop motion when his camera jammed while filming a series of cars. He exploited this technique endlessly and went on to pioneer the science fiction, fantasy and horror genres. He also pioneered in techniques like fade in, fade out, dissolve, reverse motion and cutting in the camera.
